How the Program Works
Easy as 1 2 3 and it takes only few minutes to order
1. Find the courses
Find the courses you like – we have a large list of courses in various formats: DVDs, CDs, text-based, and courses provided on USB flash drives. Our course catalog makes it easy to search by media type or by engineering discipline. Place your order using our secure online shopping cart, print an order form to fax or mail to us, or call us at 713.489.0080.
2. We send you the course
We will send you the course package, which includes the DVDs, CDs, printed text-based course materials, or flash drives, along with a multiple-choice quiz to be completed as you go through the course. You can either send us the quiz answer sheet or take the quiz online for immediate scoring. Some DVD, CD and audiotape courses also have accompanying written course notes.
3. Send it back to us
After course completion, return the course materials to us (except text-based courses, which are yours to keep), along with the completed quiz and payment. If you receive a passing grade on the test (70% or higher), we will send you a Certificate of Completion documenting the number of PDH credits earned. Credits issued by PDHcourses are accepted by all state boards of engineering.
Courses offered by Professional Development Options are based on materials produced by various engineering organizations, training organizations, and subject matter experts. Courses are copyright protected and cannot be duplicated.Learn more about our training partners
We offer group discounts! If you have a group of engineers who wish to take the same course, simply indicate the number of people who will be taking the course when placing your order online. A discount will automatically be applied. Each attendee will receive a separate quiz and certificate of completion. For more information, call 713.489.0080.
All course material is rented and must be shipped back to us upon completion of the course in order for a Certificate of Completion to be issued. Text-based courses are purchased, not rented, and thus are not required to be returned.
The standard rental period is one week for courses up to 11 hours in length. Courses 12 hours or longer are rented for two weeks. The rental period starts on the date you receive the course and ends on the date you ship the course back (in other words, the rental period is the time the course is “in your hands”). If courses are returned late, a late fee will be assessed equal to the individual rental fee, prorated to a daily basis, unless prior arrangements have been made to keep the course longer.
Courses are shipped to you by USPS Priority Mail. No shipping charge is added for rentals totaling $40 or more. You are required to return the course material to us by USPS Priority Mail, UPS, Airborne, or Federal Express at your expense. Residents of Texas must add sales tax of 8.25%.
